This study aims to identify shortcomings related to the right to maternity, paternity and parental leave in terms of compatibility with the Constitution of Georgia and international legal acts. In particular, the study examines the international perspective on the recognition and protection of the right to parental leave and the practice of its implementation in the national legislation of the Council of Europe members. The study also examines the provisions of national law governing maternity, paternity and parental leave in the private and public sectors and assesses their content in the light of minimum international human rights standards, including in the context of equality.
