Georgia’s healthcare system, despite recent reforms, is characterized by serious problems. Among them are particularly difficult working conditions for medical workers. The quality of care in Georgia’s medical facilities is directly impacted by these working conditions. This report examines the working conditions of nurses from this perspective, reveals the system’s shortcomings and proposes ways to improve the system.
The report is based on information obtained from interviews with nurses about their daily experience at work. It contains data on the living and working conditions of nurses, including work schedules, pay, workload, and involvement in hospital management. It also presents nurses’ thoughts on the problematic issues in Georgia’s healthcare system, and their ideas on how to fix these issues.
The study was prepared by the Solidarity Network in 2019
